Colleen, our Beaumont Care Placement Coordinator, had been trying for 8 days to have a lovely potential resident and her life-long partner come and have a look at our Clontarf residence. On arrival, our potential resident made it very clear to Colleen, that she was resistive to going into care, and would be “going home”.
Beaumont Care assisted her into a wheelchair to make it easier for her to see the Home. She is very important and special to us. Ruby-Lee, working on the floor, offered them both a cold drink and our potential resident grudgingly agreed to assist Colleen with her paperwork.
After taking a tour and meeting staff and showing her the rooms available, Colleen then took her to meet Collette, and Renu, both clinicians and management personnel at Clontarf for a very big welcome. Collette asked our potential lady resident when she would like to come and she replied “ I can’t wait to come and live here”.
This is a beautiful outcome for her partner and friend of 55 years, and for our newest addition to Redcliffe Aged Care at Clontarf who has been welcomed with open arms. Congratulations to the entire team for showing love and understanding towards our new friends, at their time of need. Jeanette GM.
