Wamuran Park Home held its annual Christmas party on 5th December, with a delicious spread of ham, chicken, slaw and salad and of course homemade potato and dressings and desserts to accompany lunch. Volunteers, staff and family assisted Centacare and Wamuran personnel in preparing for the day. This opportunity for relatives to share a meal at Christmas with their loved one is much valued by residents and staff, and it is a special time with music and dance. Trips down memory lane are made especially at this time of year.
Di Warhurst provided all the live music, something Di has been doing for over 20 years at Wam singing carols and playing Christmas rock with plenty taking to the floor.
The annual winner of the Max Andrews Perpetual Trophy for resident of the year, went to Mark Boxsell for his contributions to the home throughout the year, including his much loved edging and trimming and mowing which he does to perfection and is very proud to be able to contribute to the home for all residents. This gives Mark great satisfaction and he is our 2018 winner of the shield which is on display in the dining room.
As another year goes by we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and Christmas season, from Kathy and the Wam team and residents.
