Let’s come together Queensland!
Queensland Seniors Week provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections, aligning with the Queensland Government’s and Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland’s vision of building Age-friendly communities in Queensland.
During 17-25 August 2019, Seniors Week connects communities, providing opportunities for people to share and learn new experiences and assist in reducing social isolation.
As part of our Seniors Week celebrations at Roslyn Lodge North Tamborine, residents had the opportunity to take part in a fantastic concert at the Tamborine Mountain State Primary School. It was an amazing event full songs and dances by the young students along with a ‘Bollywood dance by some of our ‘Senior’ members of our wonderful community.
To continue our celebrations we have hosted our first ever ‘Gourmet Seniors Week Breakfast’. Residents had the opportunity to choose and enjoy, hash brown, sausages, roasted tomatoes, creamy mushrooms, bacon, eggs and toast.
Pictured is Gerhard Bargen who specifically thanked everyone as he thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of his breakfast! Rollie Weston invited a special breakfast guest today with Avril Downie Activity Officer joining him. We look forward to hosting another fun event.
