This is our NDIS fishing trip out on the boat! What a day we had.
Some Beaumont Care Independent Living NDIS participants and over 65s enjoyed a spring day out fishing with Fishability QLD at Bribie which aims to offer a broad range of fishing related activities to build the confidence and skills of participants, offer opportunities to develop lasting friendships with broader social groups, and have fun.
We enjoyed looking at the boats in the marina and watching them load up the gear onto our boat. We set sail and headed out to the ocean to catch some fish.
We took turns baiting our rods, throwing in a line and then the wait to see if anything was biting. A few lucky residents caught some fish, Michael Barnes, Barbara Callum and Mark Tanzer posed with their prize catch and put them in the esky to bring home to fillet and cook. A BBQ lunch was cooked on the boat, a well-earned rest following a lot of fun and the expectation of the catch. We continued fishing for a few hours, then headed back to shore and home with our fish. A glorious day with great weather, and we are all keen to spend time together and try our luck again.
