Three residents from Wamuran Park Home were eagerly looking forward to their first Horse Therapy outing under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Mark our resident “cowboy” couldn’t wait to go. When he returned, he said it was just magical and looks forward to the day he can ride a horse again.
Ray who has previously worked with race horses was ready to go! When he returned, he said he loved It and the pictures show Ray, who uses a wheelie walker by the end of session, only relying on the horse to walk around.
Alex is a quiet resident who doesn’t talk a lot. When getting ready to see the horses, he had a smile from ear to ear. Alex showed his daily gentle side to the horses. Carer Trevor escorting Mark, Ray and Alex, was amazed by the horses and how their nature changed when they put on soothing and calming music for the horses. He said they were so gentle with the clients.
Seeing is believing and this was a memorable outing and one they will all look forward to again. Konect Equine Wisdom and Wellness, Caboolture.
