The cancellation of this year’s Ekka didn’t stop residents at Beaumont Care Wamuran from having their own Ekka fun. Residents celebrated the spirit of the Ekka at home with strawberry ice creams, dagwood dogs, clowns, sample bags, country and western music and side show alley style games.
Resident, Dot Thomson, said that bringing the Ekka fun to their home was a marvellous idea.
“I love all the side show alley games, but the clowns are my favourite. I’m looking forward to the Ekka food too,” said Dot.
Dot, previously from Morayfield and one of Beaumont Care Wamuran’s inaugural residents, said there is always plenty of activities at her aged care home to keep her busy.
“There’s art and craft, bingo and hoy – whatever is on, I like to join in,” said Dot.
“One of the best things about living here is the service. The staff are always happy to help you out with whatever you need. I love the food too!”
