Long-term Redcliffe boys, roommates and Beaumont Care Kippa-Ring aged care residents, Bruce and Kevin couldn’t be more impressed with the recent refresh to their room. Previously catering for four residents, their room has now been converted to a large companion room with a sitting area.
Kevin says that the refurbishments have given the pair more privacy and space.
“It’ all very nice. The room has been painted, we have new curtains, a dividing wall, and a large area to ourselves with lounge chairs to sit and relax in,” said Kevin.
“There is a lot more space now for my DVD collection too. I like everything,” said Bruce.
Director Linda Beaumont said that Bruce and Kevin’s room is one of nine that is undergoing a conversion and refresh.
“We are almost finished converting all our four-share rooms to large companion rooms with a sitting area. This provides residents and prospective residents with greater choice, more living space, and privacy, especially for those who wish to live with a loved one or friend,” said Linda.
In addition to the refreshed room, both Kevin and Bruce say that the staff and care are second to none.
“You couldn’t get better than the staff here. The other residents are all friendly too,” said Kevin.
“I also like going on the bus trips and they sometimes take me up to Beaumont Care Wamuran to visit one of my friends who lives there.”
“When I came here four and a half years ago, I couldn’t walk and was in a bad way. The staff and physio got me up and walking around again. They are great,” said Bruce.
