Our Residents Make The World Go Round

Dedicated and long-serving Beaumont Care Mount Tamborine staff member of 13 years, Sue Watson, says that it’s the residents that make her jump out of bed each day and eagerly come to work.

“I love the residents. They make the world go round. Even if you are having a bad day, there is always someone here that makes you laugh,” Sue said.

“We are a team. A big family here. Everyone is friendly and we all kick in and help each other out to get the job done. It’s a great group of people to work with.”

Sue, who tenders to the resident’s laundry, says that her favourite time of year at the aged care home is Christmas.

“I love Christmas and always look forward to it. I make Christmas cakes and biscuits for the residents. It is such a magical time of the year,” said Sue with a smile.

“I also love the resident cats. I taught Puss to drop and roll and people joke that Alfie the cat is my boyfriend because he likes to give me cuddles.

“The quality of care is exemplary, and everyone here works really hard.”

Director Linda Beaumont says that the organisation has built its reputation on its person-centred approach to care.

“We are all about providing warm-hearted care your way. Taking the time to understanding what is important to each of our residents is our unique point of difference,” said Linda.

“We are definitely one big family.”
