A country man at heart, Michael spent most of his working life on farms, working in shearing sheds and sawmills. He also wrote columns about the bushranger “Thunderbolt” for the Hinterland Herald in his earlier years. Michael now enjoys watching others work at the strawberry farms neighbouring his home at Beaumont Care Wamuran and loves the serenity and stability that his aged care home brings.
“I have uninterrupted views to the farms from my room. I love the serenity and stability. There are no hassles here and I feel secure,” said Michael.
Michael, who previously lived at Beaumont Care’s Wamuran Park Home for 10 years, also says that the food is good, and the staff are great.
“You get everything you want here. The food is good and there is always something else on offer if you don’t like it,” said Michael.
“I love that I have my own room with a private ensuite, and the staff are great.”
Beaumont Care Director Linda Beaumont said the aged care home at Wamuran, which opened in October last year, was built for people who come off the land, the local community, and surrounding neighbours.
“It’s a beautiful country-style home with large verandas. Every room has a view,” said Linda.
