Mount Tamborine resident Edith is an advocate for Beaumont Care, her home of two years, and believes that it’s the little things that make all the difference. She also likes that her cat, Puss, is an important part of the family.

“The care here is different to most aged care places. The staff know you well, and it’s the little things they do that makes all the difference,” said Edith.
“For instance, the other morning, I was out taking Puss for a walk in the garden. It was a cold morning, so one of the staff decided to bring me out a cup of coffee to keep me warm. It was a real personal touch.
“Everyone here looks out for you. It’s like a family, and they get to know your ways. The meals are lovely, and if you don’t like what’s on the menu, then they will make something else for you.
“They all know Puss, too; he is part of the family.”
Edith also likes the fact that there is always something to do each day to keep her busy and active, such as bus trips, cooking, quizzes, craft and bingo.
“Sometimes we go to the shops and have a coffee and an ice cream.
“There is also a volunteer that comes in on the weekends to play cards. If you don’t want to join in, then you can still sit and have a chat and a joke.
“It’s very homely and friendly and is definitely one of the better places to live.”
Beaumont Care Owner, Linda Beaumont, said that understanding and meeting the individual needs of each resident is something that the staff are passionate about.
“We are all about providing warm-hearted care to residents and their families, especially in their time of need,” said Linda.
