Mt. Tamborine residents gathered for a special service on Anzac Day to pay their respects and contemplate the sacrifices of those who have served.

Thanks to Newhaven Funerals for donating the poppies and wreath for the service.

Anzac Day, observed annually on 25 April, is a national day of remembrance in Australia, New Zealand, and Tonga. It honours all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions, as well as recognising the contributions and sacrifices of all service members. Originally established to commemorate the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought in the Gallipoli campaign during the First World War (1914–1918). Anzac Day has since come to represent a broader reflection on military service and sacrifice. Lest We Forget.
