Roslyn Lodge residents are excited to have hosted their very first of many, ‘Do-Re-We’ classes last week. This exciting new program initiated by Stephanie Lorimer of the Scenic Rim Music School not only brings the community together but also brings generations together through its inter-generational and fun music program. So, what is ‘Do-Re-We’ ?
‘Do-Re-We’ is an inter-generational inter-community music program that brings together toddlers and pre-schoolers (8 months to age 5) and accompanying adult with the music-loving residents of Roslyn Lodge. These fun Saturday morning session run for approx. 45 minutes.
The program provides a quality introduction to music in a unique setting providing children with the opportunity to share and learn music interactively through songs, rhythm & rhyme, instruments, dance and more.
Encouraging interaction between young children and older people, Do-Re-We teaches values of kindness and empathy. Parents will see their child develop a strong musical foundation because early childhood is the perfect time to experience the benefits of the Do-Re-We program which is taught by a qualified and experienced music teacher.
The Residents will enjoy watching parents and children interact and share the joy of making music with others. Together, we’re stronger, making the world a better place one kindness at a time!
